This is AI Bringing regurgitated ideas and wrong notes to the mix. One note: Paul ALWAYS dubbed his bass lines to the recorded material. That's how he attained that amazing precise sound. This is an interesting post.

With access to original material, Pemberton uses band and producer occasional raw language to give us an impression of how determined each bandmate is to capture the perfect take. Once again we understand the artist torment as he digs deep into himself aiming to find what he already carries within his soul. This is fresh material, previously unheard and cleverly assembled, provides a significant contribution to our understanding of the more general artiistic process. Splendid work, M Pemberton.

Most songs were solo project! That is absolute nonsense. Apart from Julia the only solo projects were McCartney’s who got impatient, big headed and competitive all at the same time. The other songs are group efforts generally led by Lennon.Stop spurting nonsense about the Beatles!

McCartney said nothing when Allen Klein claimed he had two Beatles as clients in November 1966. Epstein, Lennon, Harrison and Starr all had plenty to say about it, but he said nothing. That's cuz he proves a Beatle can disappear for two months out of the public eye, and no one bats an eyelash. And he was the only one in town to be negotiating with Klein during the period of September through November 1966, and he's the only one not around when Klein tells the British newspapers. I'm pretty convinced at this point, that it's McCartney bringing Klein around to shake up the Beatles management. Apple is McCartney's power grab for The Beatles. He did not like Epstein's management. He's the only one who wasn't happy with him. As soon as Epstein died, was when they should have taken a break. But McCartney puts them straight to work on Give My Regards to Broad Street Part 1, which succeeds in shutting off the American market in regards to its film. Which America said no thanks to. The revenue they passed up was not worth showing this film, which I find surprising for America. But then again McCartney had announced he was Atheist in January 1967, and on every CIA list, this would make him a Commie. Later in the year he promises he and the rest of The Beatles will all sign for the legalisation of cannabis, which he doesn't inform the others he's committed them to this. He also has to go on television to address his confession of taking LSD that appeared in Queen magazine somewhere in the Spring of 1967. I can't tell you when, because it seems this original article just does not exist. Quotes from it appear in LIFE magazine, but the original article?? Can't find it. Like it doesn't exist. He does not think George Harrison or Ringo Starr are Beatles. And you can see this trend recurring with every Wings line-up. He cannot keep a drummer or guitarist in his band to save his life. This is either because : A. He tells them what to play, how to play, when to play B. They are not allowed any creative input on anything he composes C. He insults their playing ability or performance skills. D. Tells you your songs aren't as good as his. E. In the case of Wings, he offers you little to no opportunity to get songwriting credits, performance royalties, publishing revenue from anything you work on for him. You are paid a flat wage, and that's it. Paul McCartney is not the world's richest musician because Ebony & Ivory was a massive hit that we all sing to this day to improve racial relations. No one wants to sing that song for that. He hasn't had a Let It Be anthem since ... Let It Be. He's the richest musician because he owns other people's songs. With MPL Communications, the artists he has going back a 100 years, all provide a strong basis for his income and assets. He is a businessman who can play an instrument. And he has no idea or concept what a band means. This is probably why George Martin has only 3 beetles on his Coat of Arms. And I don't think McCartney is one of them. There are always 3 Beatles that stick together. Whether it's staying with Epstein, keeping their mouths shut and not telling anyone else to take LSD, remaining with Klein rather than let McCartney take complete control of the band (there is no 3rd option apparently where they all find a manager they can agree on, how about Robert Stigwood. He did great for the Bee Gees in success terms), and keeping their mouths shut about breaking up. Which McCartney totally used to promote his own album, creating sensationalistic journalism to get an audience for an album that only had two songs on it that sounded like he put effort in. (Maybe I'm Amazed / Every Night). When their lawyer died in December 1968 (and he told authorities someone was out to get him), it's all systems go.

    • @DrTomoculus

And Yoko Ono is Lennon's ESCAPE from The Beatles, because after Brian Epstein died, I don't think his heart was in it anymore. The drugs don't help. But you can see by his decision making process with Magic Alex (who I think has more to his story than meets the eye) that he is just losing it. Both Harrison and Lennon wanted out after the Philippines, and touring was finished. They're both done. Probably why it's alleged that it's Harrison and Lennon who Allen Klein had acquired in November 1966, after announcing in June 1966 that he wanted The Beatles. June 1966 is also where McCartney tells everyone what happened to him the night of December 26th, 1965, when he came off a Moped distracted by a full moon. It's a new moon phase that week, and since he ain't taking LSD yet, he ain't tripping either. And a week later when he comes out a London Club with a black eye, a chipped tooth and bashed up chin, the press report it, but do not take a photo. Not one. Do you believe that the press would pass up an opportunity to have pictures of Paul McCartney, looking like he got beat up coming out of a London club? Do you? Because the next week as we go further into January 1966, they ran a stock photo of him because he missed a party David Frost was holding. Is that actually news? Man misses party? And they wanted a photo of him there so everyone knew who they were talking about. And they ran a stock one (which appears to be from around mid-1965) His disappearance between September through November 1966 is phenomenal in Beatles terms, because there is not a place these people could go to or come from that they were not interviewed or photographed. EVERY WEEK they unearth photos of these 4 people that haven't been seen before. How many do you think are in existence. Are they the most photographed band on the planet by now? But somehow, for two months, he can disappear, and no one cares.

A quote from John's song 'Julia' comes to mind: „Half of what I say is meaningless ...“ I think Paul and the others also knew that John could be moody, that he often changed his mind and that drugs also had an influence. In the end, they stuck it out together for a while and produced some more fantastic songs. PS: Thank you for this superbly produced story!

Relative to Sgt.Pep….the White Album, like a steel-marble pendulum, HAD to swing to a completely ‘different’ side. Yet, being the Beatles,……the genius, uniqueness, magically-gifted songs STAND STRONG - light years ahead of ANYTHING ANYONE could imagine, while still woven with each specific Beatle’s personal one-of-a-kind DNA. Paul is beautifully Paul, John is out-of-the-box ethereal John, George is spiritually gutsy, Ringo is fun, down-to-earth. The album, caught-up and conceived in turbulent times, is a true treasure…..except for Revolution#9, of course. 😀

Also misleading to newer fans is the studio was not known as Abbey Road at that time. It was simply called EMI - who later changed the name to Abbey Road to honer The Beatles after they titled their last studio album, (Let It Be was released later but recorded earlier), Abbey Road - the street where the studio was located.
